Our second gin from our partnership with The Sky Wave Distillery in Bicester, this expression is designed to evoke images of the Palace Butler in his parlour, late at night after a satisfying day serving the Duke and his family, sipping a nightcap before retiring.
It is a sloe gin - but with a difference. Many sloe gins are overly-sweet and unctuous - in fact, they are not actually gin at all, but are gin liqueurs. We have captured the wonderful flavours of the sloe berries but without adding all that extra sugar. The result is a fine, true gin, in which the juniper is evident, but with the distinctive taste of the berries coming through.
The Sky Wave Distillery created a brand new gin for us for this expression - it is not based on our Signature Gin - which nonetheless still uses the Blenheim orange apple from the Palace gardens, as one of six of the finest botanicals. We then add the natural flavours of the slow berries before resting and bottling the result.
